Memory Monday 9.19.11

Breaking tradition today's Memory Monday will be about this past weekend instead of a more distant memory. As I've talked about here plenty in the last few weeks, this is a month of three day weekends! This past weekend Will and I headed to Little Rock on Friday morning for fun with family and then I kept on traveling to Dallas on Saturday for a friend's wedding. Weekend breakdown:

Will and I left Friday and started our road trip. Conversation that happened before leaving:
Will: I'll drive.
Caroline: Are you sure? I don't mind.
Will: Yeah, it's fine I'll drive.
Caroline: Okay, well... I will have a long day in the car on Sunday having driven from         Dallas to Little Rock that morning so I am not going to drive that day and do not want this to be held against me...
Will: Okay, you drive.
Yep, that's called marriage. Haha.

So, we got to Little Rock and dropped Dexter off at Will's parents for the weekend and then headed to Ray and Amy's for Mary Win's birthday dinner. It was SO GOOD to finally see Ray, Amy, Ada and Mary Win again! Ada has grown up so much and Mary Win looks like a different kid from the last time I saw her! We had delicious barbecue (Will and I are disappointed in the lack of good bbq places in Nashville so it was GREAT to eat some yummy Whole Hog), sang Mary Win Happy Birthday and had cake that Amy made. Here's a video of the end of Happy Birthday and Ada blowing out the candle. Ada is such a helpful big sister! So funny!

Birthday girl in the birthday chair!!

After dinner and birthday festivities Will, Ray, Amy and I went with a group of Ray and Amy's friends to see Robert Earl Keen at Rev Room in the Rivermarket. It was SO fun to spend this time with Ray and Amy and to see friends that we don't often get to spend time with. Good times and great memories.

Will is kind of mid-blink but the night was fun!
Fuzzy but I had such a great time with you, Amy!!
Saturday morning EARLY SATURDAY MORNING we went to the JDRF walk with our team "We the Peeples." Will and I don't make it to this event enough but it is so fun to see friends and to come together to raise money for a cause very near and dear to all of our hearts - curing Juvenile Diabetes. In case you don't know, both Will and our precious niece Ada have Type 1 Diabetes and so we support JDRF as much as we can! It's a great organization and we especially love the group that works at the Little Rock branch. Some time soon I am going to write a guest post for Amy's blog about being married to a diabetic. But for now just know that we are committed to finding a cure - even when it means waking up super early after a fun night out!

At the Walk in our awesome t-shirts provided by the RPeeples fam! Love this new tee!

With M Dubs at the Walk. I loved holding her so much that I didn't want to give her to anyone else. Then my arms were sore the next day. True story.
When everyone set off on the walk I got in the car and headed toward Dallas for Chevis English's wedding. I stopped in Bryant, picked up Rebekah, got Chik 'n Minis from Chik-Fil-A and we were off! Not kidding, the drives to and from Dallas seemed like they took about an hour total. Rebekah and I never stopped talking and it was SO much fun! We covered every topic from her kids to my dog to our husbands leaving cups out at night so that the first thing we do every morning is pick them up to chatting fall boots! It was so great. And, for the record since I mentioned the cleaning up the cups thing, our ride was not a husband bash-fest. We really talked about how amazing out hubbies are and how unbelievably blessed we are to have them! Aaron Boone and Will Peeples = winners. And not in a weird Charlie Sheen way.

We got to Dallas and laid around, talked even more and then got ready for the wedding. After some worrying about our wardrobes (black tie optional = a little bit confusing) we were dressed and headed to the wedding. The ceremony was perfect (we discussed afterward what a great job the preacher did - it was a very meaningful but not overly-long ceremony) and Chevis looked absolutely gorgeous. Not kidding - favorite wedding dress ever. The group that was there was so fun and the night was a great mix of catching up with old friends and seeing people that I haven't seen in years. GREAT wedding, Chev! Rebekah also posted about the wedding here if you want to see more pics, including some of Chevis!

Yesterday Rebekah and I drove back from Dallas from about 9:00 - 2:00 (again, felt like 30 minutes) and then Will and I drove back from Little Rock from about 3:00 - 8:30. It was a long day in the car but the weekend was worth it.

And now the countdown to Baltimore commences - more memories to be made. T-minus 10 days!!

Happy Monday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday - 8.17.11

Here's what I'm loving this week!

1. Will is home! Praise God!! I am loving having him here for the company, the food (mmm... Parmesan Chicken last night was deeee-lish) and for Dexter to have his playmate back. Also, I just talked to Will on the phone and he was at CostCo. I love that man.

LOVE having this man back on our couch!!
2. Michelle is coming to visit today! She hasn't been to Nashville since Kathleen and I have been living here so we are excited to show her our city and spend a little quality time together. Also, we're eating at a super yummy restaurant that Will and I have never been to since she's coming - added bonus!

Michelle, Kathleen and me at a Yankees game in April.

3. The weather! Not going to say a lot since everyone else in a 500 mile radius is feeling the same way - but thank you Lord for temps in the 80's and 90's (does that make anyone else from Little Rock want to quote the B98.5 slogan?)!

4. Small Group. I was in a small group with my friends here about a year ago and due to schedules, drive time, and general laziness on my part I was not in it for about a year. But I'm back in it and, while it has only been two weeks, I love it already. These girls are amazing and I love each and every one of them!

Just missing Brandi, Mollie and Cameron...

5. Chuck Colson. We are reading Chuck Colson's book Faith in our Sunday school class and I have been totally intrigued by his story. He was one of Nixon's top advisers and he went to prison in the wake of Watergate. He became a Christian in prison and has worked in the ministry and written some really great Christian books since then. I started his autobiography (I am a HUGE autobiography fan - ask anyone who knows me), Born Again,  last week and am really fascinated by it. If you read my last movies post you know that I am somewhat obsessed with Watergate so this book is right up my alley.

That's all for now - Happy Wednesday! The week is half way over!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday - 7.20.11

It's that time again! I think this is my favorite entry to write each week and I totally stole it from Rebekah. Oops... Oh well. Here's what I have been loving this past week!

1. Panera Coffee. Starting last Monday I have been going to Panera each morning to have coffee, some quiet time and to read my b.i.b.l.e. I am really enjoying the time since I am a morning person anyway. I have been going to Panera because it's on my way to work and there are too many distractions (like my bed, TV, dog, etc.) at my house. But I am also enjoying the hazelnut coffee! And when I really want to treat myself (or when I have a free one on my Panera card!) I will get a hazelnut latte. Mmmm...

2. Promotions. Not going to say much but I have worked really hard over the past year with this particular goal in mind. On Thursday I was promoted to Senior Operations Manager and it seriously just feels great to accomplish a goal like that!

^^New Email Signature^^

3. Moonlighting. Okay, it is not secret that I love anything from the 80's, fab clothes AND I love watching old TV shows. Well... I have found the trifecta and it even includes Bruce Willis, Cybill Shepherd and some serious sexual tension. O.M.G. I love this show. I bought the first three seasons on DVD. I couldn't stand it last night so I looked up when they finally get together so that I knew how many episodes I have to go. It's like I know where the finish line is so I have to watch all these other episodes as fast. as. possible. And I am loving every minute of it.
I want this dress. Shoulder pads and all.

4. All things turquoise and teal. Can't really explain it but if I were Picaso this would be my "Teal Period." It seems like everything I pick out lately is in this color group. Evidence:

Toes. Is this as creepy as I think?

Phone - current cover.
Necklace - BONUS Awkward Turtle pic!

5.  Countdown. Every day that goes by is a day I'm closer to seeing Will! Right now it's just seven days until I'm in the Rock town for a long weekend!!

That's all, folks. Loving life on this Wednesday!!

Memory Monday

Today's Memory Monday is going to be picture heavy. As I said last Wednesday, talking to Will on the phone so much has been really nostalgic. It has me remembering all our days of dating in high school and college. And so... I give you a Will and Caroline retrospective...

9th Grade FSM Winter Chill - Photographic Gold

10th Grade - Will had probably just called one of my parents by his/her first name. And he still wears that shirt, which I find amazing.

11th Grade Winter Formal - It's a long story but Will had broken up with me four days earlier. Lucky for him things turned out okay!

12th Grade Football Game - Yes, I was the mascot and Will was in a kilt. Made for each other.

Senior Prom - I didn't know yet that I would be laughing with him for a long, long time.

The only picture we took together Freshman year. And I had to crop Brittany out, haha. But I love that I have a Bush/Cheney sticker on... classic.

Summer after Freshman year. This is when we decided to stick it out through college. And when I had SUPER blonde hair. Ha.

Will came to visit me Sophomore year - we were pumped to see each other.

Ray & Amy's Rehearsal Dinner - Junior year. Such a great weekend!

Christmas Junior year - if that's not love, I don't know what is.

Will's 21st Birthday in Nashville. Crazy to think that i was two years away from moving here! And that I married the goon in this picture.

The weekend we got engaged - so happy.

And the rest is history...
